I have been a modeler for 50 years and have enjoyed the hobby since the 1950s when mom and dad got my brother and I a Lionel train set for Christmas. Dad built a plywood table so we could fasten the track and the accessories down. The layout was located in a bedroom on the second floor right next to our bedroom. We enjoyed many hours of loading coal, moving barrels, and loading cattle. It never seemed to get boring. Today, I am modeling the D&RGW: Third Division from Gunnison to Cerro Summit in On3. I will try and keep a few progress pictures posted.
